CLICKITY CLICK ME! This is a review for the Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow quads. The ones featured are Addictive and Seductive. I found these at my local Walgreens for .49 but price will vary depending on where you get them. I thought I would try to put up this video as soon as I can since there is a Buy One Get One 50% Off sale at Walgreens this week What it claims: – All day luxurious color that doesn’t crease, fade or smudge – Rich, velvety shadows blend smoothly and effortlessly Does it live up to its claim? Hope you enjoy the video! I am wearing the Addictive quad in this video: www.youtube.com which I filmed using my Canon S95 and it made me look super tan and plastic-y shiny? 0_o haha in this review video I am filming with my Canon T2i dslr and i’m much more pleased with the quality, lighting, color after adjusting the white balance–what do you think of it? Do I feel the need to run out and buy all of the duos – no! They are really nice shadows, but i do think that I own some already that are just as good if not better. That said I’m happy to have them, but I think my one duo will be all I buy. I am disappointed with the quads and the random chalky shadow I found in each one. Flawless blending of eyeshadow: www.youtube.com Knowing your eye shape is important when you are thinking of going for my “dramatic” looks. Smoky eye. Contoured eye. Lining the eyes etc… Often times we get frustrated when we copy looks from youtube or magazines etc… because we are not taking into consideration our own unique eye shape. The “classic” eye which i will be filming shortly suits every eye shape, but for now, have a look though this video and see which eye shape you are and then start looking at different techniques that will enable you to create the best eye possible for your own unique eye shape I do hope you all found this tutorial at least a little bit useful. Thank you for your time. Wayne
Follow me on twitter! twitter.com In every makeup artists arsenal there has to be one eyeshadow look that works on all eye shapes regardless. This, to me, is the classic eye. The reason i think its classic is that it follow the principles of highlighting and contouring. While you cannot see it here – you will fully in a full face tutorial coming – but the outer edge of this eyeshadow look actually connects to the upper cheek highlight. This technique works because all we are using here are principles of light and dark. It doesn’t matter if you want to use green, or blue or pink, the principles remain the same. Lightest. Midtone. Contour. Eyeliner. Once you know the basics you can do anything. Some notes: If you have: Deep set eyes – consider OVER applying the brow and lid highlight. This will bring the eyes out even more. Hooded eyes – careful with the eyeliner. A push liner brush might be a better option as this will maximise your lid space. Wide Set eyes – easy on the inner eye highlight. Close set eyes – same principles apply as to the deep set eyes. I do hope you enjoyed this and learnt something a little bit more in-depth than most other eye shadow tutorials. I appreciate your time. Thank you. Wayne x Have you checked out: Makeup Commandments? Its very good www.youtube.com
Watch this video on my site www.lisae.me.uk for product links, tips and more info. Red eye shadow has been seen on the runway a lot over the past few seasons, most notably at Thakoon A/W 2011 and Miu Miu S/S 2012. I personally feel it looks more modern when you colour block it as a single shade. Blending it with other shades or trying to make it subtle and wearable feels like a total misnomer and slightly misses the point. Whenever I use red on the eyes for editorial I love it best as a bold, clean statement. One could probably make any shade of red work with the right application and make-up on the rest of the face however, as much as I don’t really like make-up ‘rules’, I do feel that for the novice red eye shadow wearer there are certain shades that work best on different skin tones. It is more of a runway/editorial colour for eyes but it can look amazing for a party, so work it baby! Hanako has her very own blog! Check it out here: hanakofootman.blogspot.com
