Kandee’s Top 10 Eye Shadows from MAC

www.kandeethemakeupartist.blogspot.com My fav shadows that I use daily or at least weekly….I did forget Kitten from Stila- I love that one…but then again it’s not MAC! ha ha ha

BEST MAKEUP PRODUCT OF THE WEEK!!!!

ABOUT THE PRICE: 4 eyeshadows from Bobbi Brown (and palette) will cost you £73 for the same amount of product you get from Tom Ford. Or bought alone – will cost £62 – the same amount of money that Tom Ford costs – for the same amount of product – 2.5g. Expensive. Decadent. Lavish. Essential! This high high end makeup range blew me away with it’s smooth textures, blend-able pigments and barely any fallout. It’s rare for me to be blown away by this sort of high end offering but Tom ford has given us a glimpse of sheer brilliance. The eyeshadow shades are arranged into logical shades from matte to ultra grown up minimal fall out glitter that begs attention. The glitter is truly breathtaking and demands “look at my eyes”!. What I love best is the very edited down version. Nothing more than what you really need. 10 eyeshadow palettes. 6 blushes. 2 contour shades. Etc… It’s well thought out. Each palette holds 10g of product and 2.5g each shadow. Gram for gram Chanel is more expensive. The matte eyeshadows blend beautiful as do the shimmers but it’s the ultra glitter shades that wow. Minimal fallout and extreme adherence make these by far the most beautiful pressed glitter eyeshadow I’ve tried. Applied to the lower lid or brow bone thee shine, reflect and dance in the light. Each compact costs £62 and while I would have preferred a £50 price tag I do think these are worth the investment. Let’s hope the Lauder group don’t bastardise it by including too many products and

TOP 10 EYESHADOW BRUSHES!!!!

I know i’ve said it before but i’ll say it again anyway ;) You can do more with good brushes and bad makeup than you can with good makeup and bad brushes. Brushes are the one thing i really think money should be spent on. Looking after them and cleaning them well will make them last a very very long time and so the investment is a good one. I adore makeup brushes and the ones i’ve listed here are some of my favourites. Pick the ones that are right for your eye shape and size. There is not point in getting a HUGE brush if you have tiny little eyes! Both Rae Morris and Louise Young offer smaller crease brushes – which is rare as most as way to big for standard eyes. The MAC 226 (while changed slightly) is also an excellent brush to get if you can get hold of it. There is a little rumour that if they all sell out here in the UK then MAC will make them a permanent fixture! Wooohoooo! MUFE do great makeup brushes and the pencil brushes are lovely. OCC, Cozzette and Rae Morris make the most lovely brushes made from synthetic hair and are amazing. Think of them as an investment. Wayne PS I will be reviewing the Rae Morris brushes at a later date as the ones shown here at prototypes – but amazing prototypes! I cannot say enough good things about them – the blush and highlighting/contouring brushes are the best i’ve seen!

QUICK MAKEUP TIP – MISTAKE PROOF EYESHADOW!

Many years ago bringing the eyeshadow up onto the crease was a technique that was mainly used by makeup artists. Now its something that most women do. The trouble with crease work is that sometimes it becomes difficult to know how far to bring the eyeshadow out. Often we can create a shape that is unflattering to the eye – ie – pulling the eyeshadow “down” making the eye look “droopy” not a good look. This simple technique gives you a guideline so that you know not to bring the eyeshadow out or dan any further than the line we “created” with loose powder. Its so simple but it can help us in creating a more “lifted” and beautiful eye. Thank you for your time. Wayne

SLEEK i-DESIGN ACID EYESHADOW PALETTE REVIEW

Sleek Say: The Acid i-Divine Palette contains a fusion of vibrant colours for the more daring, with bright pinks to luminous greens amongst the 12 highly-pigmented pressed mineral-based eyeshadow shades. This palette combines matte and shimmer formulations with neon and complimentary shades that keep their vibrancy on all skin tones. The velvet-touch consistency gives full and shimmering coverage to the eye lid for maximum effect. Each shade can be applied alone for a dramatic effect or mixed to create a personalised look. Best applied with the applicator enclosed. I say: Best not EVER use the applicator enclosed! EVER! I know there are already enough reviews on sleek eyeshadows palettes but here’s another one eh. The pigment is amazing on these and yes, while fall out is a problem with these the pay off is worth it. Do the eyes first. I feel its important to review drug store brands as well as not everyone wants to spend a fortune on makeup. www.sleekmakeup.com
